The saying of my oral English Project

1. Hello everybody, so now I’m going to present to you my English project.

2. First I introduce myself: my name is Carla, I’m sixteen, I’m French and I live here since I was eleven.

3. Now you can see the index of my project. I’m going to explain something that I lived last summer. I did a language travel in England for three weeks with an organization calls EF. My travel was divided in two parts. And for me it was so strange but I have learnt a lot of things.

4. I did a travel language to improve my English. I did this travel with my sister and I have met a lot of other Spanish and French people. EF is a very good organization to learn English and have fun because it organizes activities and classes of English.

5. The first three days I visited London. We had more than 4 hours to go shopping. Then at the night we were on the London night, the big wheel. And we visited the Madam Tussaud’s museum.

6. The forth day we took the bus to Torquay. This place is at five hours of London. Torquay is a town and a county of Devon. I went in a family and I had to talk always in English for everything. My host family was great. The first days were very difficult for me I have lost one time and I arrived at home at twelve pm.

7. During this nice experience I have learnt a lot of things. My English has improved a lot and I know a lot of new vocabulary. The English culture is very different of mine.

There are a lot of strange things in England: the people don’t eat much food for lunch, they only eat a pack lunch. They have dinner at five or six o’clock. For me it was very early. And they always eat sugar and for the breakfast they love a typically English breakfast.

8. I had a good time because I have a lot of friends now. But the worst thing was the food. Some of my friends get fatter, because the sugar things are better than the salt food. If I can I will repeat a language travel but in another place like Australia.

Tracy’s and Adrian’s life

There are two different films and I’m going to explain the difference and similar things between theirs. There are two main characters: Adrian Mole and Tracy. They’re two adolescences who have some problems in their life and they have to overcome it.

Tracy is thirteen she’s a good girl and a good student at the beginning of the story, she’s like Adrian. But later she has become another person. She feels jealous about a girl, Evie Zamora, who is the most popular in her school. Tracy really wants to be like her. Adrian feels jealous about his best friend Nigel, because he is going out with his love Pandora. At the moment our characters are very sensitive. Tracy finally talks to Evie and they become best friends. Tracy changes a lot, she does all like Evie. She smokes, takes drugs, curt her veins, does some piercings, doesn’t eat and works at school. While Adrian keeps the same in the entire story. Adrian is more responsible and mature I think. Maybe it’s why he’s older than Tracy. His family has some problems with money with the separation of his parents, all like Tracy. So he starts to work for some money to help. Tracy doesn’t help her mother; she prefers to have a good time with her friends.

When all the problems have appeared, Tracy loses hers last friends and Adrian starts going out with Pandora. But Tracy thinks and changes, she wants to be like last time, and helps her poor mother. Evie isn’t good for her, is a bad girl and reputation. And Adrian’s problems has reappeared, his parents are together now.

Switch on to the Macmilion Secondary Course

Gwen Stefani is now a solo artist very successful. She’s one of my favorite artists.

She was born in California, she has got three brothers. She joined her brother’s band with the name of “No Doubt” in 1957. Their first CD didn’t sell very well. But the second one was a big success. She has found her success with this last album “Tragic Kingdon”, and later has decided to work in solo. Stefani recorded her first solo album” Love, Angel, Music, Baby.In 2004. The album was inspired by music of the old music, and is why it has liked.

Personally I very like her music. She’s a very good vocalist and her music has improved every year. But her old CD’s were better than the new ones.

Now if you have a look she isn’t so popular than in the past. Her music has changed a lot. And I know how she is doing but I wish that is going to be like before.

My dairy routine

My dairy routine is very completed and I don’t have a lot of free time to relax so much of time I’m tired and I need to sleep.

First It’s true that I love go out with my friend at the disco. But with school I can’t go out every week. My concentration is sometimes late so I have to study during some hours for each exam.

Every day I get up at 6 o’clock, for me it’s very early but if want to dress up with time I have to get up at this time unfortunately. At quarter to eight my dad brings me by car at the high school every morning Monday to Friday. The worst day is the Monday. The students don’t want to study because they tired and it’s the largest day of the week in Batxillerat. Every day I have a time lunch during hour, the time pass so fast and sometimes I can’t eat all of the food because I’m very slow. But in Batxillerat it’s great because we can get out of the high school to have lunch wherever we want. On Mondays I finish classes at half past four, on Wednesday at half past one and the others al half pas two.

My favorite day is Wednesday because is the shortest and I do my favorite subject wich is biology. Is not easy but is very interesting for me. And the worst subject is math. I hate math.

The birthday of my best friend

Last week it was the birthday of one of my best friends. We are in the same class since four years and she’s very special for me. She celebrated sixteen years old. We are always helping us mutually in class when we don’t understand something, specially now because we are doing first of Batxillerat and is very difficult. The birthday has divided in two parts. The first one was having dinner in a restaurant in Empuriabrava.

We were maybe sixteen people having dinner and we have eaten a lot of food, it was so expensive too. But I didn’t have very hungry. We have talked about a lot of things we did in the past like stupid things which was escape of the school for lunch, tell bad things about someone,… The second part was more exciting because we were in a disco in Roses to celebrate the birthday. It was great! The music was very nice and new and there were a lot of people who we know. So we danced a lot and later my feet were painful because I worn high heels. It was horrible for it. And the third and last part was sleep in my house. We slept the three girls together in my big bed for ten hours so we got up at three pm. The night has been longer than others.

Like a present I bought with other friend a necklace and a bracelet for her. We had to find a shop when it was raining a lot. But the birthday was very funny and I had a good time.

Me and my family

My family is enormous. Here, we are I, my sister and my parents. The rest of my family unfortunately is living in France. Else one of my uncles who lives in Australia since four or five years.

The family of my mother is very nice. I have two cousins who want to see me every day because we are like bests friends. Their father is my mum’s bother; he’s very nice two and funny. But I don’t like too much his wife Nathalie. They are separated since two years. They’ve lived together for twenty six years and only now they start to shout one on the other. So now my uncle is very sad and he had to look after his two daughters by himself. He has some problems with money too, but he is a doctor and is a good job so he could arrive. And the older daughter is twenty one so she usually helps to him.

My grandma is very nice too I think that I’m her favorite girl in the family, because she’s always phoning me on my mobile phone every day. It’s true that my family are very concerned about me because I’m growing up, and I’m doing first of Batxillerat. Is difficult, I agree but I have to do it if I want to be an architect.

And the other part of my family is the part of my father. My father’s parents are horrible. I can’t talk with them because they don’t want to know anything about us. This is because my mother is hungry with them for a problem that she had far in the past. So I only see at a small family. I said that I have an enormous family because my father has five brothers and all of them have two or three children, but I can’t talk or see them.

One night in Ferias in Girona

Last Saturday I went out with my friends to the Ferias in Girona. It’s a tradition and a celebration of Catalonia. It’s was so great. There were a lot of amusement attractions for young people and stands of food. The name of this celebration is “la Castanyada”. In other places like mine, we celebrate Halloween but here it’s a little beet different.

So I went with two friends to Girona by train. We got into the last train to arrive late in the night. We waited for our friends having dinner in a very nice restaurant. We had some sushi, I love it. After for two hours we were waiting for us again because they have arrived late. It was the worst part of the night. And finally when our group was complete we have started to walk to the celebration’s place. There was enormous, there was two different parts: one was the part of amusement and in the other, there was an enormous scene in which people were playing music. I prefer the first part personally. But the problem was that there were too many people other there, it was horrible. I have lost a lot of my friends and I spent a lot of time looking for them. I met new people and I have seen other friends of my high school. We couldn’t walk so much because one of my friends has a broken foot. She was grouching all the time for it, poor girl. And about six o’clock we went to the house of one of my friends to sleep in there. I was exhausted; when I was in bed I fell asleep immediately.

A new Club in Catalonia

The Abacus cooperative is ready to launch the first English Culture Club. This is a club which offers culture and activities with Shakespeare’s tongue as its medium.

The club has a president too. With this organization you can improve your English with other people who are professional speakers in internet for example.

I think that is a good opportunity to learn and improve a language like is English. And you don’t learn only about the tongue but something about culture and Shakespeare’s life too. Some of Catalan people can who want to learn near their houses can go in the numerous Abacus offices to join the club.

The people will enjoy this idea and meet new people. Learn English can be funny, join the English Culture Club of Catalonia.

My Italian Travel :D

Last year with all of my class of 4th of ESO we went to Italy for a week. Our travel was very organized. We had to visit o lot of different typical churches, decorated with a special architecture. First we passed three days in Roma, It was so cool because we went shopping for more than five hours! There are a lot of shops in this place because everybody knows that Italy is the country of fashion. You can find a shop for every mark like Chanel, Fornarina, Guess, Miss sixty, Gucci… All the girls were crazy when they have known this. We visited a lot Roma bur my favorite sight was the “Fontana di trevi”, it’s so wonderful. After these three days we visited Firence where I bought some pasta decorated with colors for my parents. It was delicious. In the same place I tasted the best cappuccino of my life. In Italy the food is more expensive than here; yes I agree that all the Italian things are more expensive. I ate a pizza for 17 €. But I have to say that the pizza, pasta, risotto and lasagna can’t be compared with its in Catalunya. The Italian people is very funny, we talked to a boy in Roma who said to us that we have to taste the typical Coca-Cola’s ice cream. It was something very strange, but it tasted good!

I had a very good time in Italy and if I can I will return specially in Roma because I think that is the best place in Italy you can visit.

Cycling the Catalan capital

A girl who really doesn’t know Barcelona wants to go to see the sights of this place. But she doesn’t know how. Her husband, David, proposed to her to do this visit by bike, and she has agreed it.

They are going to do a bike tour group with an English guide who will describe everything that they cycle together.

The tours starts just off of the Plaça Catalunya on carrer Taller. David is a professional cyclist, so they practice this type of activity frequently. The organization is perfect: the bikes have a number, they’re comfortable and with a bottle of water in each of them. The travel was great they saw the Museu d’Art Contemporaci, the sculpture of Botero’s Cat, the Plaça Reial, Plaça Sant Jaume and something else.

I think that it’s a really good opportunity to visit a city. Cycling by bike is something original and if you participle in a group you will have more fun because you can meet new people.

My English travel during summer

This summer I did a language travel in England, obviously to improve my level of English. I did this nice experience with my younger sister.

First we went to the airport of Barcelona and we took a plane to go to London. We’ve stayed there for only three days. We did a lot of shopping and visited the Madame Tussau’s museum. I really like it. After these days we traveled to Torquay by bus. The travel was very tired because we stayed six hours in the bus. Torquay is a town in the area of Torbey which is in the Devon’s county. When we arrive, we met our host family immediately. The father was Australian and I spoke a lot about Australia with him. The mother was very friendly too, she taught to me how to prepare a typical English tea, something so delicious. Our program was great: we had to do classes of English every morning for four hours at school. Later, at the evening we did some activities like go karts, volleyball, crabbing. But my favorite activity was what we did every night: go out, go at the disco. People say that three weeks are too much long for a travel language but it’s not true. For me the time was very short. I met a lot of new people who I miss a lot and I’m not sure if I will see them another time. It’s sad but I keep a nice memory of this experience.

England it’s cool. But there’s something that I hate: the English food. Every day we had to eat the famous pack lunch, It’s was horrible. Luckily I had some money to buy something else because the English food is definitely not for me.
